Wait it’s already been like a month since @cultureshockla ‘s Benefit Show : RED❤️ and I still haven’t made a post yet 😱 life literally jumped up on top of me and I haven’t posted anything in a while... well I’m back! As always this family ceases to amaze me. This benefit show was definitely 1 to remember with everything from the rehearsal process, the moments on/off stage, & the impact we left for the audience as well as our youth. Thank you to everyone involved in the show and everyone who’s share a moment with me throughout this season. Yesterday will be forever engrained into my mind. But let’s start with how yesterday came to be. • Last year the idea came into my mind to have our full @cultureshockla family come together to create a dance video to the @bep song - “Where is the Love?” With all of the crazy things happening with the United States’ social climate and around the world at the time(and even currently) my heart was aching. I wanted to do something to put more light into the world and that’s when the idea came to me. • Even though we weren’t able to do it last year I wouldn’t change how it all ended up coming together. This family right here made of Culture Shock LA, @futureshockla @mightyshockla & @minishockla is the reason why it all came together so seamlessly. The knowledge and experience I have gained from previous/current members & directors are the reason I was able to lead this project with confidence. It was nerve-racking at times when i would have to make announcements for it but every time I had the reassuring look and faith of my fellow leaders to help ease my nerves. Though I might not have been in as much of the video, I was more happy seeing everyone together. Seeing everyone’s true light shining through. Getting to direct this many people put me in a position where I was able to see and feel the greatness we all possess. It honestly felt like those beautiful movie slow motion scenes when I looked at each individual when we were all together. So all I can say is thank you to everyone for helping me be who I am right now. • Also Mega Huge shout out to @jazzyjfree for being an amazing videographer and really using your creative mind and eye to help bring this vision to life! We all can’t wait for the finished product and we know you’re gonna make it beautiful!
