     LIPS ARE POUTING, her arms folded tightly over the suit she wore as dark eyes studied him. jessica had never met this vision before so consider her wary at the moment. he was robot but not? but also human? but also the stone? yet somehow was the baby of tony, bruce, and thor? all of it was just confusing.

     and yet, despite all these questions in her head, there was only one thing that was bugging the girl:   “ how come you get a cape and i don’t? ”

Ruby had been waiting patiently to use the ladder. The last book she wanted was clearly labelled, three shelves higher than she was able to reach on her own, and she was nothing if not patient -- except when it wound up in the hand of someone else. Someone incredibly recognizable, at that. 

          getting hurt on a mission wasn’t anything new. usually those were some light wounds, bruises or scratches. but this time wanda was taken by surprise and unprepared, she ended up being blasted away like a ragged doll. she didn’t feel anything strange at first, nothing hurt more than it did before, but when she looked down and saw her clothes being soaked with blood alarms in her head went off. and then it finally hit her - sharp, sudden pain on the right side of her abdomen.

     TONY GIVES A SOFT huff at first , half smirking before shaking his head .     “ yeah , ”     it’s obvious he’s lying .     “ i’m peachy . ”     chocolate brown eyes finally settle on vision , volumes spoken deep within his gaze .     “ why do you ask ? ”

YOU’RE STILL SMALLER THAN LOKES

               A  voice  in  the  back  of  her  mind  immediately  snaps---  it  won’t  be  fine,  it  never  is.  She  allowed  herself  to  be  confident  during  battle  once  before  and  it  cost  her  brother’s  life,  she  wasn’t  there  to  help  him  and  she  lost  him,  she  can’t  make  that  mistake  again.  And  yet,  she  knows  she  can’t  say that,  she  can’t  think  like  that.  It’s  only  a  downward  spiral  from  there,  one  that  she’s  promised  herself  she  wouldn’t  go  through  again.  “ But  what  if  it  isn’t? ”  Wanda  looks  up,  eyes  big  as  her  lips  open  to  whisper,  “ What  if  we  can’t  fix  this?  The  stones,  the  fight,  all  of  it.  What  if  we  lose? ”
