This is just a little self indulgent thing I had in my folders that I forgot about. And the person in it was Connie, not Hunter, but I found it might be more interesting and make a little more sense with the grimwalker, considering what his life source is

Basically, I believe Pink Diamond still exists within Steven’s Gem, she’s just buried so far down you’d have to go past even the deepest, darkest parts of his subconscious. She chooses to stay a completely separate entity from her son, because her gem ceased being hers the second she surrendered it, at least in her mind. Kind of like how Pearl’s gem works, she’s her own consciousness separate from Stevens in there, to the point the gem would have to be extracted and THEN reset to bring her to the surface.

Needless to say, doing that would not end well for anyone, because the second she remembers WHERE she was before the hit she’d probably lose her goddamn mind and make it her mission in life to shatter whatever Jackass killed her son

Then probably blow up the earth herself if it was a human, because she gave up a LOT of things to save their pathetic race, and they did THAT to her in return

What I’m saying is that she’s a chaotic neutral who did a lot of good things but was still a very damaging dumbass in the WORST of ways (her first Pearl, Spinel, Bismuth, etc) not good or evil, and pretty terrible at being reasonable or smart, but had enough redeeming qualities towards the end to make her someone worthy of love and being loved.

She would also totally go full villain if she was brought back at the expense of her son.

Anyway, the point is this isn’t cannon unless Aeon says so, but I made it anyway because it’s pretty and the concept of Hunter meeting Pink Diamond himself, without any concept of who she is (other than Stevens mom, MAYBE) would be very interesting.
