“I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s... beautiful.” Ravi was enraptured by the sky, so he could scarcely imagine what the rest of the wonders the planet held would be like. He almost felt bad for DJ, who’d drawn the short straw with shore leave this time around -- well, technically he’d volunteered to be part of the skeleton crew who’d be staying with the ship, but still. “C’mon, we should find the hotel so we can change -- I want to try hiking that trail the captain suggested!”  

“I’m perfectly aware, but there’s a chance it won’t, and if it’s all the same to you I think I’d like to keep my team from being killed if at all possible. If I have to take anyone, I’d rather it not be from engineering.” The truth was, of course, that everyone else in engineering was far more capable of handling any sort of combat situation than he was, but he still didn’t like the idea. 

Was that how she was going to confess to accidentally breaking the oven? Apparently so.

“Getting arrested was not how I envisioned my shore leave to go.”
