Behold!
I think of myself as sort of a thought-vampire. Because I really like my thoughts. I think that the way I see the world is beautiful. And when I die, all of those perspectives and philosophies that make me me die too. That’s part of the beauty of life, but I found a way to beat it.
I tell people my honest thoughts. I am my honest self. Not perfectly, or even close to it. But as much as I can be. And I tell people about it.
But I’m not really telling them about it. I’m really a time thief. I’m stealing your brain hours and using them for my thoughts. If I talk to 30 people for 5 minutes, that’s 2 and a half HOURS of human brainpower spent on my thoughts. I can gauge reactions broadly across a wide range of people and I know where I stand with just about everybody.
But most intriguing of all is that when I’m gone, my ideas will remain in your mind. The philosophies and perspectives that made me me will help make other people who they are. I’ll live on in them, in a small way, for a little while.
Am I tarnishing the inherent beauty of life with my own hubris? Undoubtedly! But that’s perfectly fine by me because like I said, the way I see the world is beautiful to me. And my favorite perspective is that of the beholder.
