Q: We’ve heard you have a solo debut coming up. How does it feel to be finally releasing music of your own after ten years? A: I’m definitely a little bit nervous– it’s essentially like I’m making my debut all over again, however this time it’ll be without my members being by my side. But I’m also very excited. It feels like I’m finally getting a chance to branch out and show my own colors. Min Sukja may be Paragon, but Paragon is not Min Sukja, does that make any sense? So it will be a unique experience to show a side of myself I haven’t been able to since debut.

Q: To an extent. So what can we expect from MINACE’s solo venture? A: You’ll have to just wait and see, won’t you? [ laughs ] Really though, it has a bit of everything. There’s a little bit that’s very Paragon inspired, and the rest is just, well. Me.

Q: What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced in the process? A: I’m afraid I’ve yet to experience half those challenges seeing as I haven’t released anything yet, but up to this point finding my own style was something I struggled a lot with. I’ve had a glimpse or two of it here and there but it took some time for me to really come to terms with who I am and what kind of product I wanted to put out there.

Q: Do you have any concerns about promoting on your own? A: A little. It’s different when you’re with a group, at some point you’ve done the dances so many times it’s like you can go on autopilot with everything. But I feel like being by myself, I have a lot more I need to focus on, like there’s more pressure to perform perfectly. Plus, it’s been ages since I’ve promoted with the girls. I’ll miss them terribly, for sure.

Q: Speaking of it having been a while since you’ve promoted with your group, can we expect a Paragon comeback any time soon? A: Unfortunately we don’t have one in the works just yet, but there’s nothing I would love more than anything to be able to come back together soon. Hopefully I will have good news for you all at a later time.
