Kawayang Pangarap (Bamboo Dreams)
Most of us donāt appreciate what we have in front of us, only because we didnāt know that whatever we had now is what others are lacking on the other side.
Me saying that, I based it on a documentary that I watched about a father and his 3 daughters, cutting bamboos for a living, they barely have enough to help ends meet, the youngest is even willing to change dream for her family.
After I watched that, I felt like Iāve done nothing for this world, Iāve done nothing for my family, I didnāt even know how it feels to cut a bamboo and carry more than 10 pieces of it downhill in the middle of the melting sun to pay my familyās debts, I didnāt know how it feels like to work first thing in the morning before I go to school, all because I grew up in a family where everything I ask for is given to me immediately yet I donāt appreciate all that, while on the other hand a graduating child who has bigger dreams than me doesnāt have a decent clothes to wear on her graduation day.
My dad always say;āyou should be thankful because you are luckyā I act like I know how lucky I am but actually I didnāt, but after I watched that documentary, I finally realize that life is unfair; I have the things that most people lack, and I lack the things thatĀ āthe most peopleā are full of. I might not show it but Iām grateful for what I have. And I also wish those 3 kids goodluck for their future
