Lucy [&] Robin's Wedding - The Millswood Croquet Club
A couple of weekends ago my partner and i had the immense pleasure of photographing Lucy and Robin's wedding. We have been looking forward to shooting this wedding ever since it was booked. My partner who is a commercial photographer rarely gets to shoot weddings and when he does we always work together. I think this creates a lovely relationship between the documentors and the event, where by the two of us as a couple see the wedding day unfold as refection of our relationship as well as he celebration of the couple who is getting married. I love working with Sam because when i look back at the work we have done together i believe that its is our closeness that allows us to photograph weddings so empathetical and intimately. From Love with Love.
Lucy & Robin, got married at the Millswood Croquet Club here in Adelaide, South Australia. It was a beautiful day. The setting was picturesque and in a true modern wedding style it was delightfully vintage. A wedding style which i love to shoot because the images as the day unveils read more like stills from a romantic french film evoking narrative and imagination.
The star of the show, second to the couple and their cute son Lewis was the the club itself. Never has a wedding location had so much personality and presence. It was as if we were all treading kindly on its pristine lawns and club house as to not hurt or interfere with this suburban gem. This delicate nature was also exemplified by the club house which was tiny in proportions to modern day living. Everything was small yet halfway between miniature and life size. A kids cubby house in perfect proportions for adults.
Lucy's friends and entourage did a great job of dressing the club house and lawns, nothing was overseen from the cute vintage table cloths to the lighting which framed the croquet club perfectly.
Thank you Lucy and Robin for your kindness and lovely wedding. x
