What people don't understand is Miley 2.0 was always there. That side of her was just dormant... I think we all have a part of ourselves we hide from society because of societal expectations and normality. Like, a good percentage of you wouldn't mind stabbing a few people. What happens when you explore that aspect of yourself? Though Miley's transformation was abrupt (I'm still very surprised and concerned for homegirl, this does not dismiss the abomination that is the VMA's), I do feel this ratchet-rebellious side was held captive for some years.
