      the bratty half demon gives the other a very loud, chest heaving, HUFF. he didn’t really understand her whole feel good sentiment. “ain’t it about time these villagers learned how ta take care of themselves? this is getting OLD.” he leaves the ground with a single hop and into the trees they went - he could see better from up here.

  “feel good? am i suppose ta get good feelin’s from doin’ shit like that?? i don’t even know why i gotta do it. ain’t like humans ever helped me.” he adjusts as she’s moving forward - careful not to drop her ( that’s the last thing he wanted ). but she’s getting closer and he’s side eyeing her. “stop gettin’ so damn mushy on me! it’s gross.” but the cheek kiss catches him by surprised and it’s EASY to tell.

you act, you move. you laugh and you conduct light with your bare hands and you are so, so sweet. honey comes from smoke, and so do you. your jaw clicks in and out of place when you smile, and you are a prop for other people's lives. you don't blame them. you don't think you know how.

disillusionment arc

it's hard to imagine yourself when you were young. maybe you were meant to be a hero; maybe you could have been, in another world, but this world only made you sad. there seemed to be too many problems to fix and too much cruelty and too many hard lines that you did not know how to soften. the world turns and it is bloody and hard and you sit on your bed, thinking about the blood and the hardness and all you failed to do. i know it feels like you could sleep until the end of time, but i hope you don't. i hope you lift yourself out of bed one day, not to save the world, but to peel an orange and to walk in a forest; to find all the softness you could not create.

“*choked up* Mama? Umm, HI, can you ... *sniffle* can you come get me? I got into this HUGE fight with Setsuna and Towa, and they fuckin’ left. And they were kind of my ride so ... so now I’m STUCK here, sitting on this dumb park bench like an idiot. *sniffle*. It was so STUPID too, I don’t even remember what we started fighting about. But it’s like *sniffle*, it’s like all of a sudden Setsuna was GLARING at me and Towa was SHOUTING at me and I just ... you know, DEFENDED myself. A lot. Loudly. *sniffle* Dammit, why won’t these freaking tears just STOP already? They’re gone, it’s not like anyone is here to feel BAD for me.

everyone thinks you're very melodramatic because you never miss an opportunity to break out in lengthy monologues about everything that is wrong with the society. but you are deeply misunderstood. the world has scarred you and now you're simply trying to get even. the hero says you go too far in trying to achieve that and so they conclude that you must be stopped. just because you killed a few people. you have a perfectly logical reason for that. the hero would actually see your point if they stopped being a sanctimonious asshole for once and would just hear you out. or maybe you're actually wrong somewhat.... you'll think about it later.
