“CHEEKY MONKEY”

When he’s not at home in Melbourne, Australia, Mike Maka, aka Makatron, says he’s “been known to wander in other dimensions,” which is most likely where he did the research for this wall. Also working on canvas and paper, Everfresh Studio member Makatron paints mostly on far-flung walls from the Berlin Wall to the Ganges River, and in 2014 he joined the cast of world-renowned artists gathered for @MiamiArtWeek, donating time and creativity to inspire the children of the Jose de Diego Middle School. Left behind with no art programming in the middle of the booming Wynwood Arts District, a remarkable 73 artists came together for the first RAW Project, almost immediately bearing results in school pride and demonstrating the power of art. Painting on NW 32nd St, Makatron’s other-worldly creation was joined the following year by another interesting creation by Italian artist @Zed1_Marco . @mike.makatron
