Ringo was the runt of the litter. As I held his tiny body in my hand after he was born, I knew he would never leave our place. Nevermind hubby had put his foot down at 5 dogs and said, "no more dogs". I never breathed a word about my feelings for him. But my son fell in love, too. Little boys have a way of swaying daddy's hearts. Not only did we keep Ringo, but one of his brothers, Shep, too. He is my husband's favorite dog now. Ringo outgrew runt status and is our fierce, but friendly "head of farm security".
