maybe tai was being neglectful towards the other and their feelings . perhaps even a tad bit disrespectful as she quickly answered an email in the middle of their heated conversation . “ what ? “ she asked dismissively . her head being lifted to see their face while her phone slipped back into her pocket . she knows her focus has been on getting the lounge ready for its opening , but not enough to warrant this . “ you seriously think that ? of course , i care . “ now , what she cared about ? tai didn’t know given she stopped listening about a minute ago , but they had her undivided attention now . 

“— Wait, hold that thought,” Johnnie instructs, holding up a hand that then curls around her glass of wine, bringing the cup to her lips for a long sip. “It’s been way too long of a day, and I am way too sober to deal with more stress if that’s what’s coming my way.” An additional lingering swig is all it takes to finish ff her glass, grabbing the bottle and pouring what remains. “So if you have bad news to report, don’t dish it out until I have downed this. If it’s good news, though, well, then...have at it.” 

“I mean...you know what they say about assumptions?” The smile on her face is tight, forced. Eevee is not the mastermind that her father was, and is far from the brightest bulb that shines amongst her vast array of siblings. All she has are cliches and good intentions, but how far could that take her when at the heart of her, she is still privileged? “I just hope that you can ignore all that baggage that comes with my family name and see me for me?” It’s a lost to ask of a person, particularly whenever she looks in the mirror and a blurry reflection stares back at her. Eevee is still figuring out for herself who she is. “Like, I’m not even involved with films. I haven’t seen even the latest Jurassic Park movie!”
