Pairing: Kakashi Hatake x reader

You were walking through the streets of Konoha at nightfall, it was autumn and the once lush green leaves were darkening and falling off branches of the trees around you. you were walking towards the exit of the village after getting everything that was on your grocery list. The guards at the gate opened the gate to let you pass after so many times of you passing in and out they don’t ask any questions. they know your house is outside of the village. Right as you walk out of the guard's sights. you hear “Yo.” ‘right on cue’ you think to yourself

a towering Kakashi stands before you! he does this every time

“Here let me walk you home,” He says as he leans to hold the bags for you

“Thanks, Kakashi, but you know you don’t have to do this every time,” you say as you look at him

“And you don’t have to say that every time either, I have nothing to do right now anyway.” he gives you his signature smile, it makes you blush a bit

I mean you knew Kakashi since he was little! Though you were not a ninja, you still know how to fight ~curtesy of Kakashi being insistent on you learning~ You’d never really needed to be a Ninja, you decided to live a normal life. but you always tried to help anyone at any time they needed it. Kakashi admired that about you

The sun was set, and it was a bit farther till you reached your home. you and Kakashi talked about this and that most of the way like usual. He was a lot more talkative around you

“Hey... (y/n)...” Kakashi spoke

“Yeah?”

“Do you think of someone specific at night?” He said very bluntly as he looked at the stars

After a few seemingly long seconds of you processing what he just said.

the smile that was on your faced dropped into an expression of shock

“WHAT? type of QUESTION is that Hatake??” you yell in a whisper as you start to blush

“Oh! Sorry, I didn’t mean it in a creepy way”

you calmed down a bit and looked at him waiting for him to continue

“It's just...I do and I just wanted to ask you to make sure it was normal”

“Oh..” you said a little disappointed ‘I wonder who he thinks about’ you thought

You cleared your head quickly to answer his question

“Yeah, I think about someone...”

before he could speak again it started pouring rain

You two quickly ran under a big tree that was thick enough to block most of the rain

“Well, at least the bread didn't get wet!” You say enthusiastically

Kakashi chuckled at the enthusiasm in your statement

He pulled out his Icha Icha book and started to read

10 minutes later

It was still raining and getting chilly and you subconsciously inched closer to Kakashi

He was like a living heater! how could your body resist at a time like this?

You were almost less than an inch away from him and you finally noticed how close you were

You blushed and glanced at him, he was still reading so you knew this was fine

you slowly doze off and your head lands on Kakashi’s shoulder

looking up at the stars that are partially blocked by the trees

(I know this is corny SHUSH)

You were asleep now, Kakashi looked at you from the corner of his eye...

he thought you looked beautiful with the moon shining on your face

It was midnight now. and he didn’t want to wake you up, so he used a sealing jutsu on the bags of groceries and picked you up bridal style

“psst, (y/n), (y/n) wake up” you woke up to Kakashi looking down at you in his arms

your eyes widened and as soon as you regained enough consciousness you jumped up out of his arms in shock

“K-kakash-Kakashi!” you say flustered with a rosy blush

“Oh, sorry was that weird?” he said scratching the back of his neck nervously

“You didn’t have to do that Kakashi!” You were still flustered

“I didn’t want to wake you, sorry (y/n)” he spoke

“No its okay, thank you for being considerate, but.. where are my groceries?”

He released the sealing jutsu and all your stuff appeared at your door

speaking of door, you're at your house now! he walked you all the way there while holding you? he must have a lot of stamina

“Wow.,” you say under your breath

“Thanks, Kakashi!” you turn to look at him with a bright smile

He blushed a little and gave you his signature smile

“No problem,” he says

you open your door and notice the clock

2 AM?

How long did you sleep? This is way later than you usually get home

‘Guess I'm having a late dinner’ You thought

and then you looked at Kakashi who looked like he was about to take his leave

“Hey wait Kakashi!” your voice made him stop in his tracks and he looked at you

“Its late, and it might start to rain again. do you want to stay over? I have a guest room and I have everything to make some dinner” you say pointing into your house smiling at Kakashi

He looked at you hesitantly for a second

but then he gave you a warm smile

“Thanks (y/n), I’d like that”

Then you two spent time together

He cooked with you

He used your shower

then you two fell asleep on the couch talking, you were supposed to fall asleep in separate rooms. but oh well

you were best friends

For now at least
