“Who else has said it? I’ll kill them. I’m the only one allowed to talk crap about you.” He’ll frown, but his words have less bite than usual.

He’ll glance at her then when she nudges his shoulder. “It’s been a while since they died. I should be over it by now. But I’m not.”

“It’s not significant.” She waved her hand dismissively. “It doesn’t matter how long it’s been since someone’s passed away. Time doesn’t make the ghosts of the past stop haunting us.” 

“What’s this about ya puttin’ up a wanted poster fer me?” Renji whacks Rukia upside the head. He points to the embarrassing thing, with the huge description on it. “I go to the store fer 2 hours and ya do this?”

Rukia only smirked, catching his hand as he whacked her and laughing. “You were taking so long, I thought surely you must have forgotten the way home.” She glanced at the poster, admiring her drawing of him.

“Hey! I had a lot of work that day and my meeting ran late...” Rukia huffed. “And I did not walk into a wall! I just... bumped into it lightly...”
