Microsoft to release update to permanently fix the Internet Explorer security bug
Microsoft is likely to release a patch to fix the security bug in its Internet Explorer browser. This would be of immense help to millions of users in fixing the problem that could have exposed their personal data to hackers.
This problem arose for millions of users. Cyber attackers installed the Poison Ivy Trojan, which is a dreaded malware capable of taking away personal data or the control of the PC from the user.
Microsoft acted quickly to fix the issue and released a security update for all IE users. It was conveyed through a blog that they are also working on it to fix the issue permanently and will come with a better solution to fix it soon.
According to a report, Microsoft recommended its users to download a free patch named as the โEnhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit,โ which will act as a temporary solution to the problem.
The problem was first noticed by a Luxembourg-based security expert, Eric Romang, who found Poison Ivy malware infecting his system by exploiting Internet Explorer.
After releasing the temporary bug fix on September 19, 2012 Microsoft is expected to release the permanent fix on September 21. According to Microsoft, the permanent fix will get automatically installed on the systems running on Microsoft Windows OS if it is customized to receive updates.
