The 1st is that if you asked him what he cares about most in this world, he would tell you that the ONLY thing he cared about was his own survival, and that he would throw anyone and everyone he's ever loved under the bus if it ensured his survival. He'd tell you that he'd lie, and steal, and manipulate, and kill if it kept him alive, and it doesn't matter how many times his actions directly contradict that belief, because you will NEVER convince him otherwise. He will risk his life just to make someone else happy, then look them dead in the eye and call himself the most selfish person who's ever lived, and he truly believes that about himself with every fiber of his being. He thinks he's a horrible person for SURVIVING.

The 2nd thing you need to know to understand him is that he cares WAY too much about what other people think of him, and it's not because he's insecure. He views himself as very competent and intelligent, and he takes pride in that, but he has an undying NEED for other people to KNOW that he's intelligent and competent. He desperately craves approval, and he's been STARVED of it for a long time, so Micah will do incredibly stupid things to prove to people how smart he is.
