The most colorful turkeys on the planet are the Ocellated Turkeys of the Yucatan Peninsula (Mexico, Northern parts of Guatemala, and Belize) Spectacular to see in the wild.

Does anyone know if any negative interactions come by coplanting ipomoea batatas ‘blackie’ and capiscum annuum ‘jalapeño’? I want to put a black ornamental sweet potato in the same pot as a jalapeño. All the studies I find are about large-scale farming in China, and the results tend to be inconclusive from what I have had time to read. Coplanting is more aesthetically pleasing.

The Indian peacock is likely to use threat displays most of the time, stopping short of actual fighting. The best time to see these displays, as well as the occasional fight, is at the start of spring breeding season, when the males are establishing courting territories. No one was hurt and later they were perched together on my pergola.

See the gray patch on this chicks upper beak? That’s the egg tooth that helps the chick to cut through the shell of the egg to hatch out. It disappears within a day or two of hatching.

My neighbor Joe showed up this morning with his chainsaw and made short work of the branch that came through out greenhouse. He’s assessing the damage and working on a solution to fix the damage the branch caused. The chickens, as usual were key in overseeing Joe’s work and making sure it was to their liking.
