Oh my days. I've always said that I can't pick just one specific scene or season of gallavich that is my favorite. BUT those two episodes in s7 are definitely one of my favorite ones. EVERY FREAKING SCENE was SO incredibly intimate. Like yes they fucked but I'm talking intimate as in, lying down looking at the stars together, Mickey literally grasping onto Ian like he was the most important thing in the world to him, the whole "fuck, I missed you scene" and SO much more.
This scene tooooooo. AND THE WHOLE "YOU'RE UNDER MY SKIN MAN" You have absolutely no clue how much that impacted me. I'm so not normal about these two eps. They were both so incredibly hungry for each other too. And you can literally see it.

This one was one of my very first Gallavich fanfics that I read and I absolutely adore it. The writer shows a lot of the internal struggles while also showing the development in all the characters' relationships. It's also got a buncha cute moments.
Here and There by NotAWriterButITry
It's a really cute enemies-ish to lovers story between the two. I really love the dual perspectives as well, especially because it shows the different thoughts in detail. Also the idea of model Ian Gallagher and assistant Mickey Milkovich? Literally executed perfectly.
Cooperative Gameplay by grayola
The VERY first Gallavich fic I ever read and it's honestly made it's mark on me. It's the perfect mix of angst, fluff, and everything that makes you really think about it. Also they include so many details in the fic like pictures of the clothes, the Wikipedia page, THE SONGS, I kid you not, everything is so detailed. I get why it's one of the more popular fics in the Gallavich fanfiction genre.
A Twist In My Story by Speakfuckingenglish
I think I binged that shit in one night. There were so many plot twists and out-of-pocket things to make it funny but also a mix of angsty shit. Like hard-core angst too. But it really shows how quickly the two bonds, even if they don't want to admit it. I'm ngl, I was wary at first because I had no clue what to expect but it's genuinely become one of my favorites. The author tied in a fuck ton of Fantasy but it actually makes sense and works SO well with the storyline.

The intro to the fic was written SO well, it sets the vibe of the fic up and gets me all up in my feels. The Mandy and Mickey dynamic in this is also genuinely adorable. I also really love the way this was set up and shows us how Mickey and Ian's relationship develops even more. Overall written so welllllll.

All jokes aside, the way they write is actually insane. I love their fics so much. Anyway, I hope they are doing good and they honestly deserve all the hype they get.
S1 Mickey is so funny to me. Like you're telling me he really decided to fight Ian and when he got on top, he went "wait, why does Ian look fine asf under me?" And just ran with it.
Genuinely though, they are my favorite couple in the whole show. Like all the times we saw Ian with other people, we could see how Mickey truly was the right one for him. I mean, none of Ian's exes genuinely were the right match for him. Ian and Mickey are the definition of matching each other's freaks.
They are one of the couples I could rant on about forever.
This is gonna be just a random series of rants and hopefully I will summon some of the fans. I've got loads of ships I very much support AND I absolutely have receipts.
I'm just gonna start this off with my main ships atm which is Gallavich. I could literally rant about them two for fucking ever. The writers of Shameless made us survive through so many breakups, separations, fights, and so much trauma but it really shows how much their characters developed and truly are the right fit. Though, sometimes when I'm rewatching, I gotta remember it's worth all the trauma and they do get married/have their happy ending.
People can talk about how Shameless started to go "downhill" towards the later seasons but they have to admit that we are one of the most well fed ships (despite the stuff we had to go through to get there). Like Mickey's character was apparently not supposed to have a big role in Shameless but because of how popular he was with fans, he became one of the main characters. I mean, we got an episode named Gallavich, we have had multiple mentions of the ship name in the show, they literally got married, Mickey got Ian's name tattooed right above his heart, and we have a bunch more content.
I've gotta say though, for those who made it through all 11 seasons without skipping an episode (me and a bunch of other people), genuinely are you okay? Like lemme just list off some shit we had to watch.

s3 Mickey and Ian get caught
s3 Mickey gets married
s4 Ian goes AWOL and starts showing signs of his bpd
s4 Mickey's coming out scene (im just gonna leave that right there)
s4 Ian’s first BIG sign of bpd (the whole "let me take care of him" scene)
SEASON FIVE IN GENERAL (I was genuinely in tears the whole time)
s6 Mickey going to prison ("Svetlana paid me" oh my days.)
s6-8 Mickey DROUGHT (except for like three eps)
s10 The whole breakup era (I'm gonna js pretend that didn't happen)
s11 Mickey having to take care of Terry
Also, you're telling me they decided to make Mickey mourning his dad into a freaking joke??? Whyyy??
Anyways to sum it up, they genuinely are the right fit for each other. People who say "they fight too much", I fear that is one of their love languages and they literally always work though it and are almost always into it when they fight. They match each other's freaks SO well. Also all of Ian's exes quite literally show us that Mickey is Ian's match (not Trevor slander). Hot take, I think Trevor wasn't the worst match for Ian but the writers pushed the relationship too much, they would've been better as just friends.
We can see that Mickey and Ian have been through so much tg that them being with others makes no sense. Especially during their whole "breakup" era, we can see that Mickey definitely isn't into Byron AT ALL and really just wants to make Ian feel hurt the same way Mickey felt hurt.
In all the seasons they are together though, we really see their relationship develop. I think s1 Gallavich was definitely crushing on each other. s2 Gallavich, you can literally see when Mickey gets that look in his eye (especially in that baseball dugout scene). We kinda just see how they get more comfortable with developing into an actual boyfriend dynamic. We really see this in s4-5. This is the time where Mickey really steps up to the job and takes care of Ian despite being scared af.
Anyways, Ian and Mickey are one of the best relationships in the show and have some of the most interesting plots in the series. They are my freaking roman empire (especially in THOSE two eps. Wdym "you're under my skin man."? THAT'S SO INTIMATE.) I thank the Gallavich writers everyday for having them get married and let them have a happy ending. If you made it all the way to the end of this post, you must be really bored or REALLY into Gallavich.
