An Analysis on Uraraka: MHA MANGA SPOILERS, CHAPTER 323 & 324
I've never been an Uraraka fan, but she EXCELLED herself in the last two chapters.
As we all may know, and for the ones who don't, I'm going to explain it "quickly"
In my opinion, her development route deviated from what she actually believed in the beginning of the series. She wanted to be a Hero to gain money and therefore help her parents. Even though this is not the most noble will for someone to become a hero, (if we compare it to other people's will...), still, it is completely valid, even though it may sound a little bit selfish.
Why am I not an Uraraka fan? Well, in the beginning, it was because of this. Her will wasn't something out of the extraordinary. Maybe a little bit bland. But her cute and kind personality - which resembles as a beam/light of hope - kind of leveled her up a little. In addition, she was the one to change Deku's meaning and therefore make our protagonist gain more confidence. Her crush in Deku slowed her a little bit though. But she pushed it aside and concentrated in what was actually important: everybody were doing their best to become a hero, and so would she do it.
And Deku made Uraraka change her will: His will to become a hero is really strong, and the path he chose to achieve it consists of pure hard work. (Which also has a huge counterpart: his lack of self worth, and that he is a self-sacrificial maniac.) Deku inspired not only Uraraka but other characters to try to do their best and achieve their goal: become excellent heroes.
So Uraraka focused on trying her best. Once she got to know Deku's counter-parts, she got sort of a self-enlightment: she couldn't stand watching her role-model (Deku) almost sacrifice himself everytime he wanted to save a life. So she thought: who would save the heroes when they are in pain? Here's when her will deviates from her initial one. She does not want to be a hero to win money, she wants to be a hero who helps the heroes when they are in need. Her will went from "okay. Still valid but bland." To: "Kind and noble".
To do so, she took the microphone Mic was using to calm the enraged civilians and did the job herself. A job that Present Mic failed to do. (Don't get me wrong, I love him, but he was not able to calm the civilians down when Deku came back to U.A.)
There are people who say that what Uraraka said could have come from anybody's mouth. Yeah, that could have been possible. But WHO took the initiative? Uraraka. WHO took PRESENT MIC's microphone away - THE MICROPHONE OF A PRO HERO!! she literally did something that could have earned her a huge reprimand. (Well, we haven't seen the outcome yet, it can still happen.) - and stood in front of an enraged public to calm them down and beg for empathy? Uraraka did that. She did something RISKY. Why? Danger sense activated on Deku when the public started yelling him to get out, which means that they intended to do something bad to him. And Uraraka, who's defending him, could have been in danger too. (Well, she was in danger during her whole speech). What actually "saved" her, was that with her quirk, she managed to stay away from the enraged public, so that they wouldn't be able to harm her.
She may have said what another character could have said, but who would have been it if not her, given to her character-development route and close relationship to Deku? During his rescue, there were many characters who said beautiful things to him and tried to reach out to him. Although Uraraka also tried to do it, it wasn't as impactful as maybe what Todoroki, Iida, or Bakugo, etc, said. Now she got her moment. She got her chance. And is even following the path of her character development.
See how Deku reacted to her speech? He cried. He yelled: "Uraraka-san!", while teares welled up in his eyes. Her words moved him. She managed to reach out. And she touched his heart. He literally collapsed WHILE CRYING. And who did that again? URARAKA.
SHE EXCELLED HERSELF! It may have took her long enough. But the important thing about all this, is that it FINALLY happened. Let's appreciate it.
WHY DO I ALWAYS CRY WHENEVER A NEW MHA CHAPTER COMES OUT PLS I'M TIRED OF CRYING EVERY WEEK LET IZUKU REST
