I don’t follow the Marvel universe, but Idris Elba as Hemdall (with the gold eyes) makes me want a Twilight story where Idris Elba plays a vegetarian vampire who takes on the Volturi and kicks their asses. And since I’m alright with Carlisle in the films, he can help.
Twilight be like
“There are no vampires in Eastasia”
Stephanie Meyer is taking question? Why did you ruin vampires for everyone? Why did you write a creepy Rule 63 version of Twilight? Why do you keep retelling Twilight from like, eight different character perspectives?
Why? Just why?
I watched Twilight: Breaking Dawn today
Since the circulatory system and other bodily functions of vampires no longer function, can male vampires still get erections?
Since vampires are rock-hard already, does it matter?

If the popularity of Twilight is anything to go by, this is the most romantic thing for a woman.
Today I read a review:
at last! someone else who realises that vampires are nothign more than glorified parasites!
And thought it said
at last! someone else who realises that vampires are nothign more than glorified peaches!
I lol'd.
re: vegetarian vampires
I've always thought it would have been more interesting if the Cullens were normal vampires who killed people. Bella would have an actual dilemma in the story. Can she love Edward knowing what he does? Does she love Edward enough to kill people herself? What is her big dilemma in the existing story? I never understood that. It's not like she cares about her parents or friends anyway, so what exactly is she giving up to become a vegetarian vampire? She's giving up gardenburgers and old age, big deal!
And another thing, IMO Stephenie Meyer wrote books about vampires without understanding what is sexually appealing about them in the first place. Vampires are sexually appealing because they are dangerous, amoral, hypersexual predators. I have always thought of vampires as being very nihilistic. They are the ultimate bad boys/girls. Beauty and eternal youth are a big part of the fantasy, but I think the main point is their ability to transcend normal human morality. That's the fantasy. They are freed from all moral constraint and get to do very bad things. She reverses that completely by making the Cullens harmless vegetarians and making Edward a virgin. Which is an interesting idea, I guess, but I've always wondered if the vegetarian vampire concept in the Twilight Saga was an example of self-censorship on her part to make the story acceptable for a teen audience.
