The Sema is a death ritual—not of the body, but of the ego. It is a remembrance of our origin, a return to spirit, a conscious choice to “die before you die,” as our beloved Prophet ﷺ said. Rooted in sacred law (Sharia) and turning toward spiritual truth (Haqiqa), the dervish becomes a living conduit between heaven and earth, channeling Divine Mercy through each spin, each breath, each whisper of “Allah.”
