Every man dies. Not every man really lives. -William Wallace . At the Metropolitan Museum of Art the other day I took a fancy to a marble bust of William Tilden Blodgett. He was instrumental in founding the museum... and I like the cut of his jib. So I sketched him. The sculptor was John Quincy Adams Ward. After researching him I realized JQAW has multiple statues in Central Park that I know well. He even has a statue of Lafayette at the University of Vermont that I use to see when I lived there! Short story long: it was nice to "formally meet" an artist I have apparently known for so long. .
