The Future of Design

This post is in response to one of my recent lectures on the future of design and I will be sharing with you some exciting design technologies/artforms that are progressive and new!
1. The Eyewriter
The Eyewriter combines design with technology to help paralysed draw into a program using their eyes. It was created to allow a paralysed graffiti artist continue to work, his artwork was also projected onto buildings in real time.

2. Jason Salavon
Jason Salavon’s work comprises of digitally layering multiple images to collect their overall essence. Above is a piece of work that collates 4 decades of playboy magazine covers to show how they have progressed over time.

3. Metapolator
An open source program (not for profit) that allows users to modify and create fonts, creating a large database of user made typefaces.

4. This person does not exist
An adversarial network that generates a human face using only pixels. This is my personal favourite on the list and quite freaky.

Overall I feel that with the progression of technology, design will progress as well. This list makes me excited for the future and where it may lead.
