Syscourse will never be a very good debate space because of the very nature of the internet. There will always be trolls, cross posts, harassment, and irrelevant garbage. The vast majority of people here don't want to engage in genuine discussion, they just want to be right or get attention. You'll see this in any pro-anti argument space ever.
I find #syscourse particularly potent because people keep triggering each other's goddamn trauma responses (which is a recurring theme in plural/system spaces & discussion some of us would love to have.) Everyone in this bitch is mentally ill. We have completely given up on being genuinely scholarly. Block button is your friend. Or you could like throw a temper tantrum about it lol.
