Black and Whiter Cluster
M68 // Andrew Lockwood
Containing more than 100,000 stars and located 33,600 light years from Earth, M68 is one of the most metal-poor globulars in our galaxy. It could have been accreted from a dwarf galaxy that once orbited the Milky Way.

Messier 68 - Globular Cluster in Hydra
M68, discovered in 1780 by Charles Messier, is an beautiful cluster situated in a peculiar place just above the galactic centre. I say this because globular clusters are suspected to be remnants from a previous stage in the evolution of our galaxy. It is quite easy to observe this cluster with a small telescope, assuming you can see low on the southern horizon.
