Instead of being set on the coast of Oregon in this au it's like. in the middle of Kansas or Oklahoma adsfasdf Danny's family lives on the edge of a nature reserve and he befriends a centaur colt who traveled a little too far and got lost. The boys want to grow up to be Conservationists instead of Marine Biologists lol
have you ever drawn what tahti the merboy could look like when he's older? perhaps a teenager or even an adult? would his fins get even more colorful and elaborate with age?
I've drawn him as a teenager quite a bit! I think most of the art for Merfriend has been drawn from that period.
He doesn't really change much as he grows older, just gets a little more toned and collects a handful of scars lol

Danny made sure to pick out a waterproof phone and case because it would only be a matter of time before he'd forget and take it with him into the water lol Also, if it's waterproof he can take pictures underwater XD
Danny gets him the phone when he leaves for college, cause Tahti was sad over not being able to see him everyday after school anymore. Now he can text him, call him, and just generally stay in touch while Danny's taking classes in the big city!

can tahti grow legs on land or does he just sort of flop around π
He usually just flops around lol
Sometimes he rides on with his belly on a skateboard and propels himself with his hands!

Hey Iβve got a kinda weird question about your merfriend story
If Danny and Tahti did a bloodbrother pact where they cut their fingertips and mesh them together, which would mix some their blood, would Danny get some sort of mermaid powers or experience a slight change in some way because he has a tiny bit of Tahtiβs blood in his body now? Like I said kind of a weird question but was just wondering.

We did consider several ideas with Danny, Tahiti, or Bea changing forms in the story, but as of yet haven't found a way to make it work with the world building feel of the rest of the story. (It's technically fantasy because there's merfolk but it's set in the real world, and attempts to tell the story in a way that doesn't necessarily contradict real life, but we all know merfolk don't really exist. A low-fantasy I believe?)
Either way I'll keep this idea in mind - or you could write your own story revolving around this concept! That'd be awesome and I'd definitely read it!
