So you are sure strongly suspect that Light is Kira. You’re going to prove it and send him to execution. That much is clear, you do you.

But on top of finding a proof, isn’t it also curious to understand how he started all this? He’s a bright overachiever with strong morals and good prospects. Vain, yes, but ultimately not without reasons. While that’s exactly someone who can become Kira, that’s also someone who’d never attempt a murder in the first place. Even if he somehow obtained supernatural powers, this just doesn’t add up. So what happened there, with his very first steps, before going full Kira?.. What a mystery. He might be a conundrum worth your time, just saying

I appreciate your input and you certainly have a good point. I'd be lying if I said Light Yagami did not intrigue me as a person. I am sure there is a myriad of reasons as to why Light would become Kira. Of course, I have not proven that as a fact yet but I already have a few ideas as to how Light may have become Kira in the first place.

First of all, I am sure we are all already aware of how strong Light's sense of justice is, especially considering how his father must have influenced his view on life, being the chief of the NPA. As for the other reasons, I can not release them to the public yet.

He is most definitely a 'conundrum worth my time' as you have said. That is the reason I am investigating him and going to such great lengths, after all. Needless to say, I would not have done the things that I have if I was not sure that Light could be Kira, is Kira.

I feel that this answer should suffice, for now.
