#mercenary reader

On a side note- pink robin seems like they’d be a mix of a scene kid and a emo kid, they just make me feel like they’d have neon pink streaks dyed into their hair Yaknow?

Picture you, Pink Robin. Fourteen years old, four years into your accidentally begun mercenary career and already fairly famous, besides being the apprentice of #1 mercenary Deathstroke the Terminator. You might be no superhero, not even a vigilante, but you feel yourself an invincible and all-competent badass anyway. At the top of the world and having fun despite the blood staining your hands until it seeps into your soul.

You're at Ethiopia, freshly off a mission. Do you know Robin the Second is intending to go here? If you do, you're probably already taking selfies and sending it to him, captioned guess where I am >:3 You're probably laughing to yourself just imagining his reaction to know you're here. Or maybe you know nothing, decidedly not where your friend Robin the Second wants to go and why, and at most you're sparing a thought about what to tease the guy about when you get back to Gotham.

Then comes the explosion, and worse?

When you see it, you feel absolutely nothing. No premonition of something bad, of having lost someone something precious. You see the goddamn mushroom cloud and casually think man, it looks cartoonish, sucks to be whoever got caught in it. You snap a picture. You leave.

You come back to Gotham, and by the time you know it, Robin the Second is no more.

You dig a little, because you remember that guys jokingly make you promise to investigate in case he suddenly died in a 'mysterious accident', then you find out how he did die.

You break your phone.

Okay, enough about that. Anyway yeah, you're absolutely right! At some point at least. I imagine Pink Robin enjoys changing hairstyle as well as costume and would explore all kinds of style :)

They started at age ten, true! And yeah lol they were itty bitty. Former street rat, you know? 😔

Fortunately for them, they had Robin the First establishing precedent of scary badass babies, so Pink Robin still managed to build up a good (intimidating) reputation ♪ヽ(*´∀`)ﾉ

Anyway, do you think Pink Robin would be friends with Harley Quinn? Just because their personalities are very similar. 

I talked with halluvic about it, so they really have that similar vibe huh? 🤭 Tbh tho it wasn't intentional on my part, I only know Deadpool from AO3 and that's only in relation to Spider-Man. But I'm happy to know you like Pink Robin 💕

Harley Quinn huh... On one hand I'd like to say yes. Just picture all the chaos they can and will sow. On the other hand, I can't help imagining Pink Robin and Harley Quinn instead beefing with each other lmao

You know how sometimes people with similar personalities find each other the most annoying? That's them. They have a cat fight every time they meet, full hair-pulling and clothes-tearing and biting and clawing. Tim/Red Robin can never tear his eyes away whenever he sees the fight and has been casualty more than thrice. Actually all the Batfam members and Gotham rogues have been casualties in PR vs HQ fight. Joker actually does the sane thing (!) and runs the opposite direction when he learns the fight breaking near him, unlike Red Robin who never learns.

They feed homeless,they protest against ice and stuff like that. Yeah they’re basically powerless but nothings stopping them from going out and helping people, they’d be an icon to punks.

Gotta admit, I never heard about Skyline before. But having now read an article about him, I must say mad respect. Amazing guy.

But about Pink Robin... I'm a little unsure here. Oh they definitely disapprove of ICE, they have done and will continue doing pro bono works 'handling' ICE agents, but we gotta remember Pink Robin is a morally ambiguous mercenary first 💔 They do have pay-it-forward system at their sandwich store (acquired after the gang that originally owned it got thrown to prison by Batman) and let street kids take away leftovers, but the store is just their money laundering front anyway. Rather than actually treating everyone kindly and deescalating situation like Skyline, Pink Robin is far more likely to go Red Hood and shoot ICE agents dead.

I didn't answer this right away because honestly I'm unsure myself. Like, on one hand this is TOTALLY what Pink Robin would do, they'd flirt with their own reflection they'd flirt with Joker simply because they like living dangerous. Who cares if Tim's eyes goes laser-red and his face goes tomato-red whenever Pink Robin flirts with him? Whether Red Robin proceeds to short-circuit which allows Pink Robin to skedaddle, or instead to lock IN and give them the best fight of their life, either way is fine! But.

BUT.

I can't help thinking of the implications that Pink Robin never once flirts with Red Robin. Anyone else is fair game but Red Robin? Never have and never will. What does it mean?

I like to think Pink Robin is some kind of bi! Maybe with some flavour of asexual too but they're not sex repulsed :) I hadn't gotten around to writing it, but actually Pink Robin has dated several times. It's always crashed and burnt and is super messy in general but who cares!! Not Pink Robin for sure!!!

They're on decent terms with heroes only in the sense that 'these ones wouldn't use excessive force on me' or 'these ones are easy to escape from' or, in Arsenal's case: Hey you're Cheshire's baby's daddy aren't you. Pink Robin would claim those are their spoils of war/war trophies. The Batfam, fresh from the Batcave where there are a giant penny, a giant Joker card and a T-rex animatronics, genuinely believe them and keep trying to figure out the stories behind those things. Of course if they'd only asked... Pink Robin would tell them lies with no hesitation :)
