That’d be so cute. An AU where Henry isn’t being tortured or chased by monsters but instead is a fisherman who rescues mertoons.

-He found Bendy at the bay, where there’d been rumors flying about a “Devil Fish” terrorizing local fishermen. When the fishermen caught him in a net and tried to get back at the little devil by auctioning him off, Henry bought him, only to realize-release him back out into the sea. Bendy was so confused by the kindness, followed him along the beach whenever he saw him, and caused mischief to get his attention. Eventually Henry took him home to keep him out of trouble

-Boris found Henry. While on the hunt for a school of marlin, Henry noticed that no matter how many fish he caught, his rations would start to go missing. He eventually learned that Boris was stealing their stock, but out of sheer kindness he didn’t shoo the creature away. Instead he gave the wolf-seal his biggest marlin and sent him on his merry way. In return, Boris helped save Henry’s ship from capsizing during a rough storm. Boris followed Henry home, and stays as Henry’s back up muscle during rough voyages.

-Alice was a siren, and almost spelled Henry and his crew’s doom when they first met, her sonorous voice hypnotizing the men into nearly crashing into a high hanging coral reef. Henry’s quick thinking saved them from a watery doom, but not without angering Alice. She followed Henry’s boat, attempting again and again to sink it, but Henry’s quick wit out maneuvers her at every turn. Her desperation makes her careless, and she gets caught in the tangled of a clan of Man of War jellyfish. Henry rescues her and takes her back to land where she can be treated for poison. Her face gets a little scuffed up, but she survives, and fears that her days as a siren may be numbered, for who would fall for an ugly siren. Henry says her voice is still lovely, and offers to bring her to his growing watery menagerie in his backyard.
