Not much to show yet for the next size sample of my Snappy Socks except the ribbed cuff.

This one will emphasize my slipped stitch right twist pattern over color.

A lovely summer day, featuring the first ferry knitting of August. I didn't think I made progress on this short sock, but it's a solid 1.5 inches of foot knitting.

One of my favorite ferry views is a building on a tiny bit of island connected by a gravel spit to a larger-but-still-small island. The spit is dry at low tide and covered overwise. I'm fascinated.

Even on days that seem clear and bright, the ferry reveals hazy views of small boats and distant islands. I pretend that it's mystical.

When I got home, I picked more blackberries - a smaller crop, but just as sweet - and zoomed in on more tiny blooms. The pink bud will be another one of the white flowers.

Knitting, blackberries, and flowers

It's been a pleasant, comfortable August day on the island.

I finished the toe of my largest sample of Snappy Socks. It wasn't difficult, and I prompted started charting the next size.

Blackberries grow all over San Juan Island. I may regret letting one grow in my yard, but mine yielded at least 1-1/2 cups of plump berries today!

Even this time of year there are random flowers blooming in my yard, including this Crocosmia and Queen Anne's Lace.

Time for toes!

Well, I'm excited. It's a step closer to publishing my Snappy Socks pattern. Just two more sizes and their charts, and lots of writing to go. Plus probably test knitting.

You know what they say about big feet? Big socks.

I needed two colorways that look good in stripes, but one must still stand out as the diagonal line in the design. Nailed it.
