Recent goings on
Mentality has had a busy few weeks, between having an amazing event at the watershed which went surprisingly well, and trialling new ‘subgroups’ to spread out the workload, it has been, as they say, chock-a-block.Â
The event with watershed at the end of February was amazingly sold out and was centred around mental health in the movies, and its various representations throughout film history. The screening of the road comedy ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ went down a storm and the panels and talks were equally well received. Thank you to all the mentality volunteers, the BFI young film academy volunteers and the lovely people at watershed.Â
We also have been trialling new subgroups at mentality, which involves separating off the different tasks, including politics, events, workshops, videos and resources. It has so far been a success, which is remarkable considering I (Ben) am meant to be chairmen and running this operation.Â
