Okay guys small rant because mock season just finished and IM TIRED
so basically there’s two (or three in science) papers you can do, foundation or higher. I’m on foundation for maths and science and I feel like some of the higher people treat us like we’re stupid 😭 our first questions are things like “what is 3 squared” or something like that which I think most of us are fine doing, BUT THE LAST QUESTIONS. MY GOD GUYS it takes me a while to understand things and I have ADHD so it’s harder for me to do something I’m not interested in, and THESE QUESTIONS ARE SO HARD. I struggled so much on higher and I’ve gotten so much better scores since I switched to foundation, but then you find people who are like “being on foundation is so embarrassing” or “it’s literally primary school maths…”
Like okay you can learn things faster and keep up with how fast the higher classes seem to go, MOST OF US CANT. Like my friend said, people have different strengths and for me specifically I’ve ALWAYS struggled with maths since I was younger.
Also, these hard questions on the end of our papers are like THE FIRST questions on higher 😭now I have friends on higher who are so nice and don’t judge you for struggling with maths, but there’s some people who are just so mean about it for no reason, and honestly if I hadn’t realised I actually am smart I would’ve felt so awful about it. I just don’t understand why people have to act superior or be awful because it’s just so pointless and mean and genuinely so disheartening to people on foundation, we can’t help how fast we learn and just because you don’t struggle with the same things doesn’t make us “stupid”
