Trip down to @belle_tavern to work on building a flight for my Bourbon Steward class test. First time trying Colonel E.H. Taylor and enjoyed it. Since taking the class with @straightup.615 I’m thinking about so much more than just drinking the bourbon. Nose had a toffee with a hint of alcohol as it is 100%. Palate had flavors of pepper, vanilla and picked up some light oaky flavors. Finish had a little heat tasting that pepper that lingers a bit as it finishes with a bit of sweetness. Old Ezra 7 Year - rounding out recent bourbons I’ve been able to sample and enjoy. Nice high proof bourbon with a very nice taste. Came down to drop off some figs for spring drinks and now trapped to the storm that literally fell from the sky once I got in. Not a bad place to get stuck in a storm. Just so happens to be British Bingo night! . For the bourbon...Blood Oath bourbon whiskey Pact No. 5 finished in Caribbean rum casks. You can smell a hint of the rum but a sweet and spicy notes to it.
