Our muse's first kiss. (Emerson&Liden too soon? xx)
Never to soooooon
Had Emmersonâs hair always shone like that?Â
It was a sleepy Sunday afternoon, and despite the water that he had happily submerged himself in, Liden couldnât stop his gaze from moving towards the aquaphobic mermaid that had planted himself in the soft grass beneath the large tree that cast a shadow over the pond Liden himself was frolicking. At least, it had cast a shadow when they had arrived, though now the sun had moved to the other side of the tree and Liden could not help but be fascinated by the way that the late afternoon light reflected off of Emmersonâs hair. It reminded him of the dancing that it did when it bounced off the still surface of natural water. Bright, and light and alive.Â
Emmerson was like that really. Sure, he didnât talk as much as much as Liden, though even among Nymphs Liden was known as a chatterbox, and he favoured on the side of caution before recklessness, but  Emmerson was still bright, and alive.  There was an innocence to Emmerson that Liden hadnât found with anyone else before - everyone that Liden knew or had known had always had a certain sense of mystery to them. It had itâs moments of excitement but Liden could never focus on them for long. He never focused on anybody for long, jumping from water to water seekingâŠÂ
Well, Liden never knew what he was seeking.Â
At least he never used to know what he was seeking. Â
âEmmerson?â  Liden flipped off of his back, dunking under the surface for a few blissful seconds, before popping backup leaning against the edge of the pond closest to where Emmerson sat and read. âEmmmmmmmmmmm?âÂ
Once his whining was noticed, a slow grin spread across the nymphâs face, and Liden crooked his finger, silently requesting Emmerson come closer to him. The smile was replaced by a pout, and a slight kick of his legs under the water when he got the doubtful look he knew he was going to get, âDooonât look at me like that. I just wanna talk to you, over here. Youâll stay safely out of the water, I promise.â Â
He pouted for a few moments longer, and gave a few more whines before he finally coaxed Emmerson close enough for him to grab a handful of the other maleâs shirt and gently guide Emmersonâs lips low enough to gently brush his across them. Â Liden allowed the kiss to linger, his own lips curling into a smile against the other maleâs before he pulled away and dunked himself under the water again.Â
âAll right,â he announced, his voice content, once he had popped up again in the middle of the pond, âThatâs all I wanted. You can go back to reading now.â
