the Farbucks lore goes deeper than we thought (Shrek Theory and my obsession with the Fairy Melusine)
okay so we all know that Farbucks in Shrek 2 is just a cheeky parody of Starbucks.
BUT.
Let's look at the actual lore of the Starbucks siren. The logo is famously based on Melusine, the two-tailed folkloric water spirit and serpent-woman from European mythology.
Therefore, by the transitive property of fairy tale capitalism: Melusine literally exists in the Shrek universe, and she is almost certainly the CEO of Farbucks.
The Fairy Godmother might control the potions monopoly, but Melusine has an absolute iron grip on the kingdom's caffeine addiction. 🤣
