He's thin and gangly, and does get cold in colder months, so having you around is very advantageous
He gets so used to being close to you, that when you're out in public it's difficult for him to not lean on you. Half the time he may not even care about societal expectations and just snuggle close to you anyway

Hello. Do you write for Melon? If so, could you make a Melon and a hubrids reader, maybe with whom he was friends for the reader, and after a while when they become adults, they meet each other again.
I love Melon. I just love that heâs an agent of chaos and makes it everyone's problems. Who needs therapy when you have a gun and lead a gang???
Melon has never had a lot of friends. He had a really poor upbringing, and that couples with his mom? The rumors about his mom? Yeah he doesnât have any friends, except you.Â
Melon was immediately very attached to you, and you being a hybrid? Just made him a lot more comfortable with you
He never invites you over. He doesnât want his Mama to know you exist, since there is a tiny part of him worried about what sheâd do
Very over protective of you at school. Melon has always been a little off, but there was one incident where a bully went after you, and Melon went after them with a sharpened pencil.Â
When Melon finally snaps, and kills his Mama, he did it without foresight. If he had known doing that meant heâd be going to a foster home, away from you, heâd have waited until you two could run away together.Â
While he jumps from foster home to foster home, you two loose touch. It kinda crushed him. He tried to find you when he was older, but wasnât able to. Once he was out on his own, he didnât allow himself to think about you. You may have been a hybrid, but who would want to be friends with him now? If he was bad before, he was older and so much WORSE

Melon stops, heart pounding in his chest. When was the last time he didnât feel empty? What was this feeling anyway? Shock? Must be shock. He opened his eyes a bit, but tried to keep them from showing to much of his feline heritage. He just had to make sure it was you. Melon knew deep down inside he wasnât mistaken, but he really wanted to be wrong. He didnât know if he could face you. Not after all heâd done. Even so, the child in him wanted to yell for you like he used to on the playground. Back then it was easier. That small part of him was also pleading for his older new self to suck it up and face you.
But he couldnât.Â
How could Melon face you? You two lost touch, and while he was never really able to contact you, he assumed you had hadnât been looking for him either. You two had been close, and when he was still naĂŻve, he believed no force on earth could separate you two for long. Now, seeing you again, he couldnât process clearly the emotions swirling around in his head.Â
He clenched his eyes shut again, trying to relax his tense shoulder and resume his gazelle disguise. He didnât need his tail swishing.
âMelon?â You came right up to him, and he took a step back. Even on this busy sidewalk, with lots of escape routes, he still felt trapped. The gazelle in him wanted to flee, even if it meant that he had to run into the street.
âNo, no...You must be mistaken,â Your frown...hurts? Is that what it is?
âI donât think so? Youâre Melon, right? We went to school together when we were kids. We lived just a few blocks away from one another,â He can hear your disappointment and confusion. His ear flicks.Â
âDid we?â He plays dumb. His hands make a fist, and he digs his claws into his palms to try to distract himself.Â
âYeah, you were my best friend! Then you moved. I didnât hear from you after that,â Your eyes are so honest. Youâre still the same. You know about his teeth and claws, and how unsettling he was. Yet, here you were. Years later. You were trying to reconnect. He knows youâd be disappointed if you knew the new him. Was it really a new him though? He wondered if he was ever really different, of if he was always this horrible.
âI suppose I do remember you, a little,â He watches your face light up.Â
âWhatâs your number? Maybe we can meet up for lunch or something!â You already had your phone out, punching in his name with one of those Melon emojiâs by his name. You look up eagerly at him.
Melon hesitates, but the fake number he intended to give you, wasnât what he punched into the phone. He blamed the shock of seeing you. You quickly sent a hello text, and his phoneâs alert went off.Â
âSo Iâll see you later?â Melonâs façade slipped.Â
âY-yeah,â Did he stutter? When was the last time his voice became shaky?Â
âWonderful! Iâll see you later,â You waved goodbye.Â
Melon knew it wouldnât end well. He knew that he shouldnât text you back. Melon sneered under his mask at himself, his fingers hitting the keys of his phone to give you the time he was free. It took all of a few seconds for you to text him back with a place.

Even though he knew it wasnât going to end well, he couldnât help the smile.Â
Now he had to get back to business. He had an elephant with a psychiatric appointment he needed to see.Â
Hi! I just discover your blog and glad to find it. Also, was wondering what if Melon found someone who actually love him? Someone who wants to help him with his tasting problem, someone who happily greets him when he returns from his âerrandsâ, someone who is not concern about the society, and someone who isnât afraid of him or doesnât care that heâs a hybrid. Wonât mind showing him affection but would him his space when he gets weirded out.
Like I stated in a previous answer, Melon is a sociopath. There is no cure to this, and he has proven time and time again that he doesn't want to get better. No amount of love in the world would fix that, and having any sort of relationship with him would be dysfunctional. Heâs kind of a self fulfilling prophecy because he complains about being lonely and yet he doesnât make any effort to get close to or meet others... which given his past experiences is probably to protect himself. That being said, I'll do a few headcanons anyway cuz the concept's cute and he's a fictional character so why not.
⢠Melon is antisocial. Conversations with him can be awkward because he's not accustomed to having a friend or lover and just...casually talking. But he's free to listen to you as long as you're saying something intellectually stimulating and worth it(in his opinion). Be prepared to listen to him monologuing, cause he has a lot pent up he wants to tell someone
⢠He is not used to affection. At all. He can't handle it. He still has a lot of hang ups about love and all that jazz so it'll take him a while to accept than you don't have ulterior motives...and even then he'll never fully trust you. He doesn't understand love. Donât expect much affection from him... you wonât get it
⢠Doesn't like being touched. You'll have to ask each time you do
⢠If you give him compliments he'll brush them off as insincere but inside he'll love it. About his intelligence? Hell yeah, stroke his ego. About his looks? He'll have a really hard time believing you... but deep, deep inside he'll appreciate that too. Not that he'd ever say it, in fact he'll get pissed at you for insinuating that you DON'T find him a hideous freak of nature. He doesn't like pity.
