Montreal DJ and production duo Paris & Simo have ditched their previous name for a freshly minted moniker, Prince Paris. But they sure haven’t deserted their sprightly flickering, roseate prancing future pop sound on new single All Of You, a collaboration with prolific Dutch talent Beau Collins. Imagine if Tove Lo and Whethan came together to craft the perfect bubbly aerated, fizzy carbonated dance pop song brimming with feel good vibes and a load of extra upbeat and playful charm. Astute Vancouver phenom Ekali and beloved Malaysian singer songwriter Yuna make a heavenly pairing on Leaving, a lustrous rippling, evocative glimmering beauty off the producer’s debut EP, Crystal Eyes, arriving September 28th on OWSLA / Big Beat / Atlantic. Leaving is a graceful and nimble future bass aria, exquisitely produced and lavishly textured. Yuna’s pristine voice dances ever so tastefully over Ekali’s celestial soundscape, exuding much aching regret and gentle sadness from within the song’s expansive tenderness and limber swells. FRND says of the animated visuals accompanying the single: “In the video for Before U I Didn't Exist, I wanted to capture the concept of forgetting the person you were before someone came into your life. I wanted the aesthetic to be a desolate, post-apocalyptic robot future, influenced by my favorite video game, Fallout 4. The robot koala (or as I call him, ‘KoalaBot’) represents the emotions of someone bringing a feeling to your life that you didn't know you were capable of. Once he sees the light and joy the person has brought him, he is willing to sacrifice anything for their well-being." Excuse our cheesy attempt at a not-so-witty pun, but it’d be a “crime” not to share this contagious new treat from Alan Crime, a songwriter and producer from Finland who recently signed to AWAL / Kobalt. He melts us with creamy vocals and invigorates our hearts with a chill breezy beat on You Got Me, a flushed pop and chill house hybrid. LA based DJ and production act Mako is preparing to head back out on tour in early 2018, and the impetus for the tour’s name is latest single Breathe. Though once a duo, Mako is now centered around songcrafter and producer Alex Seaver as a solo act. This unexpected cutback in project members obviously has not had a negative effect on Mako’s music. Breathe is an emotionally charged chill house, vocal bass, and melodic pop piece whose potent sentimentality could very well leave you gasping for air once its dulcet notes, dreamy strums, and melancholic vocals fade away.
