My sister and her boyfriend are talking about getting married. He, like you, doesn't really care to, but it's important to my sister so he's on board. To him, he can make the same commitment without a wedding, but she wants one, so he'll do it for her. I don't see a problem with that. And I think that's really sweet of you :) Maybe instead of a ring, some other meaningful gift that symbolizes your relationship?

I can make a commitment without a wedding, so even if I do it for him it's not like our relationship means any less to me. <3 It's not like he doesn't know all of this about me, so if he's not upset I'm doing the wedding thing cuz he wants it, then nobody else should be :P
A different gift may be a good idea. I googled male engagement rings and they're all way too fancy for his taste. Well, it's not like I'm in any hurry. I'm mostly doing random thoughts for this fact thing, I'm not intending to do anything right away. :)
