2, 4, 6, 8 for Mel and Isaac for the otp asks
otp asks
--------
2. Who wants to hold the hug longer?
Isaac. Partially because it took him a while to get used to someone touching him without it ending in pain and partially because of his deep worry that something will happen and he'll lose her sooner than he's ready for and he doesn't want to forget what it feels like to hold her. (Yes he's that sappy about her, no he won't ever admit it no matter how much she pokes and prods.)
4. Who loses their keys/wallet?
Mel for sure. She has so much going on in her head and she's always on the go that it's very easy for her to put it down somewhere, get distracted by something, and end up really far away from it suddenly wondering where they are because they were just in her hand weren't they?
6. Who tried to hide the relationship from their parents?
Technically both for different reasons. Considering Isaac's parents are dead he somewhat tried to hide the relationship from Scott. Not because of disapproval or anything of the sort but because he knows if Scott knows then Melissa would know and if the sex talk was awkward with his abusive father he's so sure it's gonna be worse from a registered nurse who has his best interest at heart. Mel never hid her feelings towards Isaac from her parents but that didn't mean she was in a rush to tell them because she just knew they'd gloat with a round of "I told you so"s when she caught on that her feelings had changed. Who likes having to admit that their parents just actually might know them better than they think?
8. Who needs/gets more sleep?
Isaac does only because it takes a long time for him to stop having nightmares. Getting to sleep is the easy part for him; he's almost perpetually stuck in a cycle of staying up and being tired and then falling asleep only to stay up again when a nightmare comes around. It's the staying asleep part he has trouble with. It takes some time but after a few sessions with his therapist he can learn how to catch up. Having Mel's soothing voice quite literally put him to sleep whenever he (reluctantly) asks doesn't hurt either.
MelxIsaac for the 5 sentences
oh, my babies! you gave me a good excuse to do more for my fake dating plot idea. (so it's not entirely imaginary but it also is because i haven't posted anything about it until now.)
send me a character/pairing and a title to get five lines of an imaginary fic.
------
"So...your aunt and uncle and cousins all think we're...together?"
Isaac winced even though Mel's words were soft and contemplative rather than the quiet storm of inevitable trouble he was used to.
Habits died hard; trauma refused to stay down.
"Yeahhhh...I'm sorry about that."
Shrugging, Mel said, "I'm not mad; you act like being your girlfriend would be the worst thing in the world."
oh, to have a love like melisaacâs đđĽşâ¤ď¸
I know right?? I swear I'm very rapidly ruining my own expectations for a real relationship with how I write these two. But I won't stop 'cause I love 'em so much and Isaac deserves all the love in the world so I'm giving it to him! đ¤

part four đ pretty please đ
I'll do you one better:
Parts 1-3 I'm going to use as a three part prologue for a longer fic of them in Vermont, showcasing how they work (or don't đ) in a domestic setting away from others for a significant period of time, the stress of Isaac letting go of the last thing belonging to his family, dealing with the other half of his family (aka his mom's side so his aunt, uncle, and cousins) and figuring out what their future looks like. đ
down to the wire

âDo you have to go?â
Isaac hummed; the combination of her murmured question against his damp, warm skin and her fingernails lightly dragging against his chest stalled his response. His eyes closed, chest swelling as he took in a deep, scented breath. Notes of sandalwood, nutmeg, and lavender wove together, swathing him.
âYes,â he finally replied, dragging out the word, relaxation easing not only the knots in his back but the words on his tongue. Craning his neck, tilting his head back, he flashed a sardonic grin. âMy knees canât keep this up much longer.â
Melâs mouth twisted down into a pout against his back, lips dragging a teasing trail. A swath of goosebumps erupted over his skin at her touch despite the once hot water still keeping a heated hold on him. Except for his knees. They may as well be snow-capped mountains with how they rose over the water line, nearly pressed up against his chest just to fit in the bath Mel insisted they take once they returned to her apartment.
She didnât need to twist his arm, it would be made of rubber anyhow, but the humor in the situation of him needing to fold himself into a near origami shape just to fit in front of her faded fast. Despite the increasing ache, he held his tongue. Heâd be a fool to mess this up, being held so close, touched so lovingly, and being able to breathe without the weight of the world crushing his lungs. Vermont may be where he had a house, but being with her was like coming home.
âI donât want you to go,â she spoke again after a few moments. She still sat pressed against his back, one arm draping over his chest; the other she held against the line of his neck, gently pulling her fingers through his hair.
Isaac grasped her hand, lifting it from his chest to press it against his mouth. âYeah, me neither.â
âAny way your coach can reconsider?â
âI mean heâs not exactly happy we flew all this way to lose so...â
âYeah, but he could at least do the sportsmanlike thing and watch to see how it ends.â
Isaac snorted. âHeâd have to be sportsmanlike in the first place to pull that off.â
âAnd youâre sure your coach isnât Jackson?â
âConsidering we flew here in economy class, yeah, Iâm sure.â He trailed his hand up her thigh, settling atop of her knee (hers of which was still submerged i the water, he noted.) He squeezed, pressing his thumb against the small groove next to her kneecap. She let out a soft hum. âBut itâs fine. I donât mind heading back early.â He quickly amended his statement when she cleared her throat, âwith the exception of missing you, of course. Thereâs some things I need to do anyway.â
âThat sounds oddly...final.â
âYeah.â Isaac swallowed the lump forming in his throat. The warm humid air thickened, wrapping around his head. âI told you about, um, about my house up there?â
âThe one that used to belong to your mom?â
âYeah, that one. I think...I think itâs time to sell it.â The shake to his words surprised him, made him suck in a breath. The idea wasnât new. Heâd been speaking with his aunt and uncle about it for weeks. But saying the words aloud made it real in a way his mind couldnât brush off. He uttered a quick laugh and a smal., shrug of his shoulders. âI mean...itâs going to be on the market soon so I am. Selling it, I mean.â He nodded his head and repeated the words again, firmer, with more declaration, âIâm gonna...Iâm gonna sell it.â
âAre you sure?â Mel leaned forward as much as she could over the rise of his shoulder; his cheek squished upwards against the side of her head. âYou love that place.â
âI know, but...I mean, my cousins are next door. And...sânot like sheâs cominâ back for it or anything.â He pressed his lips together, fighting off the wave building in his stomach, growing upwards. His nose tingled and his eyes burned and he wasnât entirely sure it was due to the oils dropped in the water. âIâm gonna need to renovate it first. Yâknow, so people donât fall through the floor. And I need to fix the hole Camden left when, uh, when we played human cannon ball and he missed the pile of pillows.â He twisted his mouth to the side and pointed a sigh downwards towards his hands where he picked a this nails. âI just, uh, wanted to ask though. I mean, if youâre not busy this summer...â
âWell, I have to drive a bike to one of dadâs customers but if you can pick me up from there, then yeah, Iâll come to Vermont to help you renovate.â He felt her nose wrinkle. âWell, less renovate and more...organize? Dad says I shouldnât have a hammer anywhere near me. I mean, you go and pound a hole in the drywall one time and the guy wonât let you forget it. Which is really his fault for only telling me to hit the nail. I hit that nail! ...It just went a little further than he excepted...â
âI know itâs last minuteââÂ
âEven better! I thrive on spontaneity.â She turned her head, planting a kiss to his cheek. She nuzzled her nose against him; he closed his eyes, memorizing her touch. âBut this does mean we have to give up all the fun of putting our lives on the line every day.â
Isaac sucked in a breath through his teeth. âDo you think you can handle a summer without your mortality hanging over your head?â
âI mean itâll take a bit to get used to but, well, we all need to make sacrifices right?â Her breathy laugh ghosted across his skin. She dropped her hand from his hair, cupping his face, turning it towards her. Her thumb brushed against the light stubble coating his jaw. âYouâre worth it. I love you. I want to help.â
He leaned forward, melding their lips together in a slow, sweet kiss. He barely pulled away, lips brushing against hers when he murmured, âI love you too. Thanks.â
Well, that was easier than he thought. Heâd spent the entire flight over turning the question over and over in his mind, waiting for the right moment to ask. And, apparently, crammed together in a small bathtub was the right moment. Now he had something to go off of when he prepared to ask his next important question.
settle the score
Direct followup to Place Your Bets because i need more cute, bantering, flirty Melisaac in my life and there should have been more downtime moments in Teen Wolf where they get to be actual teens. Though this is set in their college years, the thought still applies.

Isaac was ready for her before she even attempted to tiptoe behind him.
He couldnât help allowing his wolf hearing to kick in; he wanted to know where she was at any given moment. They didnât have much time together, after all. Plus, being in Vermont where there was a decidedly nonexistent werewolf population running around, he didnât have to look over his shoulder every time he attended class waiting for death to inconvenience him so he was admittedly a little rusty and needed the practiceâthough he had a sneaking suspicion selkies were something heâd need to keep his eye on if whispers around the lake dwellers were anything to be taken seriously. (He made a mental note to bring that up later).
Still, when Mel launched herself at him, colliding with his back, hooking her arms and legs around his neck and waist, he reacted accordingly: he nearly dropped her.
âIsaac!â she all but squealed in his ear, clinging tighter.
Chuckling, he curled his arms around her knees, hoisting her higher on his back. âSheesh, if thatâs all I have to do to make you sound like that...â
Her knees squeezed around his waist, pressing into him. âDropping me on my head isnât the best way to go.â Her words vibrated off his neck; she buried her face into the crook of it much like she did when they lay down together. Damn, itâd been too long. âDonât be a sore loser.â
He scoffed. âIâm not. Only because you just barely managed to beat us...â
âBarely nothing! I got that last goal in fair and square! Your goalie left me a mile-wide space! Remind me to thank him. Iâll bake him some cookies.â He didnât have to see her face to know she had a big grin adorning her lips, a teasing glint in her eye. Heâd become attuned to hearing her facial expressions through the phone. It was a blessing and a curse. Not quite like seeing the same thing in person.
And he wanted to see her.
He knelt, allowing her to slide off his back. Turning, a beaming smile burst onto his face at the sight of her, at the slightly faded maroon sweatshirt hanging to her thighs, the long arms danging over her hands, the black socks up to her knees sticking out her trusty paint-splattered docs. Somehow she looked smaller beneath the sports building looming behind her. Licking his lips, his eyes roamed her from head to toe and he took a step forward, pinching the sleeve of the hoodie. âIâve been looking for that,â
âSeriously?â Her eyebrow crinkled. âYou should have known I had it. I couldnât go off to college without taking you with me. And since I couldnât take you with me, I went for the next best thing.â She brought the sleeves up to her face and inhaled, lifting up on the tips of her toes. âStill smells like you too. I always wear it after a game.â
He moved his hands down to where the hem of his old Beacon Hills lacrosse sweatshirt brushed against her skin. âHmm. Does your campus have a rule against public indecency?â he asked, rubbing his thumbs against her legs, pressing his forehead against hers.
âAs much as I would love to find that out the fun way, you owe me a date.â Pressing her finger into his chest, she pushed him away. He grasped her hand before she put too much space between them, lacing their fingers together beneath the large sleeve. âSo letâs go! Iâm starving.â She marched forwards, pulling him behind her. He fell into an easy pace behind her.
Isaac let out a long sigh. âYou have to tell me where to go.â
She glanced at him over her shoulder. âHey, that wasnât part of the bet.â
âI donât know my way around here, Mels,â he pointed out, âyou do.â
Isaac nearly collided with her when she stopped abruptly. âNuh-uh, no way. I won the bet fair and square and youâre renee...reene...rine...youâre taking it back!â A pout briefly settled on her face and then her eyes lit up and she gave a little hop. He really missed her. âOoh! Actually, I know the perfect bar we can go to.â
âYou know I canât get drunk, right?â
âIâm counting on it. I want you entirely sober for later,â she explain, her words and intentions so blunt, his brain shut down and he was left blinking at her. âBut for now, weâre going to have another bet to settle this. Itâs a barcade so they have a bunch of games we can play. Loser pays for dinner and we shall see, once and for all, who the real winner is. ...Even though my team kicked your teamâs ass.â
âOkay.â Isaac rubbed his chin, pretending to think her offer over. âBut what if I say that I let you win?â
She began to walk backwards, lifting her chin, looking him in the eye. He felt it all the way down to his toes. âThen you better prepare to get on your knees and beg for my forgiveness.â
He smirked. âIâll get on my knees for a different reason; Iâm sure either outcome will please you.â Their arms extended as she kept walking backwards; he caught up to her, lifting his arm to spin her around once like a ballerina before draping his arm around her shoulder, right above the large white letters of LAHEY on the back of the sweatshirt, pulling her into his side.
Honestly, he didnât care where they went or what they did so long as he could shove as much time with her as possible in the next sixteen hours. He had to catch an early flight back to Vermont after being knocked out of the tournament. Besides, he had something important he wanted to ask her.
