Commissioned some Melinia art from the wonderful @wiispywitch and I'm so happy with how it turned out! Thank you so much β€οΈ
happy 1 day until future redeemed
Hello everyone! Happy late Melly Monday!
Time for another commission blog. And it is from @criticalspell with Hero Melia blushing after a special kiss.
Funny thing is though, Ceru (who the artist also goes by) didn't actually know what the truth of the blushing was until after the commission was done. I wanted to save that as a surprise π
So why did I go for this? It just so happens that Ceru drew this a few days earlier...
Yeah. I am a big fan of this ship. π
Which doesn't seem to be an unpopular opinion because many artists where creating Melia and Nia ship art. There is even a hashtag that got used pretty often earlier this year (#Melinia). This trend only really started happening a few months after Xenoblade 3's release and when the floodgates started opening up.
Regardless, the artist who mainly drew them together at the time was Ceru, the self-proclaimed "CEO of MeliNia". And I wanted her to draw Melia after she kissed Melia. A sweet blush with some awesome Ceru-styled chibis. Which, when her commissions were open at the time, she added free chibis to go with characters she liked. I thought it was an awesome deal!
Here is the sketch. You can tell Ceru was trying to test some things out for how she wanted Melia to be posed. Because the final version of the main piece and the chibi on the top right were flipped in the final version. Not really super interesting. Also, I like how Ceru does her sketches as well.
In general, the Melia art I commissioned from Ceru was a really sweet piece. I like how she gave Melia warmer skin color and the way she colors Melia's hair is so glorious. I love the chibis as well. The one on the top right is majestic and amazing, while the bottom right one looks doppy with the stars surround her. They're just so nice. Ceru just has such a timeless artstyle, and I adore it so much!
Ceru currently posts art on this account on Twitter (her previous account was suspended for some strange reason) , and she still does Ko-Fi commissions even though she doesn't advertise them as much. You'll just have to DM her for prices and a TOS. I recommend commissioning Ceru because her art just feels so authentic.
Anyways everyone, thanks again again for reading this all the way to the end. Tune in next Monday where I am going to share two pieces of Melia art I commissioned for Christmas last year. I'm just going off the chronology just for the holidays. Until then, good night and a Melly Christmas!
