God, I am so proud of myself on this one. I went out of my way to include details I wouldn’t otherwise, and would ya look at that, not only did I do two different shades for the shading as well as highlights in the hair and eyes, not only did I put a real actual landscape background and glow effects, but i did a blur shadow thingy behind her. Sorta makes it look like a paper cutout kind of effect, which I didn’t expect but I quite like it.

I swear, if I put this kind of effort into everything i drew, gaussian blur shadows and all, I’d probably feel much better about the quality and style of my digital art as a whole. Bee should make everything an art contest (I’m joking!!)

I still feel like i should’ve and could’ve gone back and slightly blurred all the shading, maybe added a shadow behind the tree, and adjusted the colors using a more color-accurate screen. I totally could go back and do that right now, but I 1) need to go to sleep and 2) don’t want to risk putting it off for so long that it ends up late. That’s why I’m posting this now, right now after finishing, so I don’t forget to. Wait. Can we re-enter stuff? I’ll do it tomorrow night or the night after if so. (What is it about posting artwork that makes me realize all the things I should have done before I saved a PNG copy and moving computers...?)

But hey. Details, details. I’m really, really happy with this drawing. I hope I stop being lazy and start doing some of the things I did here more often. This is honestly my best ever digital drawing so far. I want to make more like it.
