                    “   𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐖𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐌𝐄 𝐃𝐎   ?   this   is   what   she   wants   .   some   days   ,   it’s   as   if   a   colony   of   her   own   is   all   she’ll   talk   about   .   ”   the   glow   of   her   gem   seems   to   dull   with   her   indecision   ,   and   the   worry   is   weight   enough   to  warrant   a   crack   or   two   along   its   brittle   edges   .   “   the   responsibility   alone    is   —-   ”   𝑇𝐻𝐸 𝑃𝑅𝐸𝑆𝑆𝑈𝑅𝐸   !   “   ...   well   ,   i   hardly   need   to   tell   you   how   terrible   it   can   be   .   ”   her   cheeks   hollow   as   teeth   clench   .   “   if   i   tell   white   that   i   believe   she’s   ready   ,   pink   will   have   her   own   colony   within   the   next   rotation   ,   but   is   she   ?   ”   deep   furrows   form   in   her   brow   with   her   scowl   .   “   i   want   nothing   more   than   to   see   her   succeed   ,   of   course   ,   but   to   be   responsible   for   𝑯𝑬𝑹 𝑭𝑨𝑰𝑳𝑼𝑹𝑬   ?   i   could   almost   shatter   at   the   thought   .   ”

Seeing a Diamond other than Steven in Little Homeworld (or near it, technically she wasn’t inside it) was the last thing Jasper expected. But there she was, looking around serenely as if some tourist.

    Steven figured it wouldn’t be FAIR to leave Beach City without saying a proper goodbye to a few others. Not that he visits Homeworld often, anyways, but the Diamonds and Spinel helped him when he was at his lowest-- he feels like he should let them know about his decision, too. He already told Connie when he started making the plan, and his dad, and most of Beach City. Not the gems on Earth yet, but...he’ll get to that. 

Ariel was certainly impressed by how Homeworld had changed since she-- since Pink Diamond had last seen it. So much life and laughter on it. Yet, perhaps, that made it all the more concerning to the faux-Quartz. Another thing that Rose had left others to do was done. 

                    the   diamond   walks   SWIFT   &&   WITH   PURPOSE,   fingers   curled   into   tight   fists   at   her   sides.   unbridled   rage   sparks   in   the   space   around   her,   hot   &&   electrifying,   but   she   will   not   slow.   she   has   been   summoned,   &&   she   cannot   resist   the   call.

                    as   she   nears   their   meeting   spot,   grief   threatens   to   overcome   her.   DAMN   HER!!   why   here?   why   now?   the   news   is   fresh   &&   raw   &&  seeping.   sorrow   could   wait.   mourning   could   wait.   they   needed   a   plan   of   attack   —-   to   strike   &&   retaliate   against   the   earth   &&   those   defective   gems.   they   didn’t   have   time   for   this!!   ...   and   yet   here   they   are,   lost   amid   a   tower   of   pink.

                    “   i   received   your   message,   ”   she   begins,   bringing   herself   to   stand   shoulder   -   to   -   shoulder   with   the   other,   facing   out   into   a   swarm   of   bubbled   gems.   “   a   dangerous   bit   of   parchment   ...   should   it   fall   into   the   wrong   hands.   ”   there   is   an   edge   to   her   one,   awkward   &&   bitter   against   her   tongue.   they   can’t   afford   to   give   away   their   location   so   easily.   WHAT   IF   —-   ??   NO.   the   loss   of   one   diamond   is   more   than   enough   to   suffer   through.

                                                                                                         “   why   are   we   here,   blue?   ”

Form laid trembling on the paneled floor, limbs twitching and convulsing. Spinel didn’t understand what was h a p p e n i n g to her. Everything had been perfectly fine that day. Just as it had been the day before that, and the day prior to that. She had just been looking for something a bit different. Looking for something fun and interesting that she had yet to discover. And she had clearly paid for it.

Clusters of violet and pink slowly made their presence known, creeping over her physical form, staining it. Further T A I N T I N G the appearance the pink gem already found repulsing.
