Second off, Ill answer this one for Meisi & Telka since theyre the relevant ones here. Starting off with Meisi who has the more boring answer, He doesnt see Joko as much more than a demented threat; another one anyways. Whilst the Lich was much more formidable both tactically and forcewise than Meisi had seen coming, we're lucky that Meisis not the commander bc the guy was critically underestimating Joko, not seeing him as much more than another warmonger to take down to get back to the Bigger Problems, and as he wasn't witness to Big J's grand finale, hes none the wiser to how much worse things could have been. Telka, who is my own commander and resident dumbass idiot, had a much different demeanor towards Joko. Shes practically dissapointed at the end that hes a terrible tyrant who rules through fear and sadism and whathaveyou, because hes also hilarious. As one of the more worldly threats shes had to deal with, telks was downright GIDDY to come up with harebrained schemes again for something more tangibly killable (theoretically). Without her impulse control Dragon's Watch, Telka wouldve been doing some idiot scheme like trying to sneak into the harem or something to get past any eyes looking for her. She was fully ready to start the mutual cartoon violence era to match the demented energy if not for a guild and a dragon daughter keeping her on the straight and narrow. you want me dead. Prompt 6. Do they ever feel like someone else would be better fit for the role of Commander? That is, honestly a very tough call. Meisi acts as a helpful and increasingly distanced sidekick to the two timeline-separated commanders, but. I don't think he'd really be able to point anyone else for the role, really. He certainly wasn't when he met the not-yet commander(s). How could anyone be ready for such a sacrificial lamb of a role? To have the world on their shoulders- and yet never able to touch it again. He'll frequently delve into this hypothetical and get distressed, without every really answering the question asked.
12. How has their opinion of themselves changed during the course of their adventure? Was this a gradual change? Meisi's road in life has been... rocky? and hilly. and unpredictable. and-. you get the idea. Meisi goes through several "stages" to me. For the first; He started his adventure as a recently self-exiled washout krewe goon, he didnt really want to think about himself much honestly, didnt really feel much hope for himself, sad and numb about everything after leaving behind a life that beat him down. As time goes on during his stay in the Vigil, he improves! He gets more happy and supportive. And then Heart of Thorns happens. After Meisi is almost killed, and spends 5 years in the mists, Hes a considerably different person. Jaded, hardened by 5 years of mist war, only a mere flicker of that unbridled positivity that he tried to bring to the team. He tried to bring back that old innocence once he was back, but just couldnt, he felt too disconnected from his friends after his time, and yet, only mere months had passed in the real world, due to the way time passes differently in the mists. He sees himself as.. Broken, really. Stronger, more confident, he found a niche and a strength at last- a head for tactics and supplementary command. but at what cost? He never truly moves on from this view, not entirely, but as years stretch on and various extinction level events are witnessed and prevented. He grows again more sympathetic, more tired. He never really sees himself as "whole" again, but nowdays he has some peace, he would be able to look himself in the eyes in a mirror. Hes never been perfect, but hes tried his best for everyone hes been a friend to, made an impact in people's lives. That'll have to be enough. (thats rambly and barely on-topic, youre welcome)
