Megaraptor namunhuaiquii
The namesake of an enigmatic group of theropod dinosaurs. Megaraptors lived in late Cretaceous South America as a formidable pursuit predator.
Megaraptors possessed large arms & claws that it used to grab anything smaller than itself. Once caught, prey would be killed via jaws.

The door shuddered as the beastā theĀ maipā pressed against it. Testing it,Ā NaivanĀ guessed. He prayed silently to deaf Gods that it would not get in. But metal groaned its dying breath and the door clattered down. Steel dust, cracked, corroded,Ā rusted,Ā bled from the shattered lock.Ā
A monstrous hand, both scaled and feathered, clutched the damaged doorframe. Hefty claws cracked into the wall with ease, the sound makingĀ NaivanĀ flinch as he pressed himself under the table. The head snaked into view, lips parted into a soft, clicking growl. Orange eyes searching for prey it could not yet see.Ā NaivanĀ covered his mouth with a shaking, clammy palm.Ā
The beastās jaws opened, releasing a shrill, ear-piercing bark. It sounded like nothing alive today, neither like any creatures of the forestĀ NaivanĀ was familiar with, nor any monsterĀ heādĀ seen on the television.
Art to pair with a short horror story I wrote; in which rusting metal acts as a foreboding warning for the presence of a primordial predator. "The Shadow of Death that Kills in Cold Wind", featuring the Maip Macrothorax, written under the theme of 'rust'.
Went to a museum and they got these pretty and colorful sculptures of dinosaurs found in Thailand and I really like these two!
