im having a hard time believing this ask is in good faith but ill go ahead and reiterate some things

1. about eight different people have had a hand in building this blocklist. the reason we made it was so that we didn’t have to fucking see abusive relationships and rape and incest and shit all the time, and then we thought, “Why don’t we share it, help others who feel the same stay safe, too?”

the blocklist is simply there to protect people who don’t want to interact with disgusting content. it’s not a thing because i just fucking love having 32 year old dusty old crackers in my inbox expressing their never ceasing adoration for ~hawt noncon yaoi~, acting like this is 2009 and the dumb shit they say isn’t the pinnacle of second hand embarrassment. 

i’m positive that this fandom can be a safe place to be. i know over a hundred different people who agree, and who are trying their best to push away from the chanboard beginnings and into something more wholesome and welcoming for all people. used to be, people got ignored or harassed for their trans headcanons, and now it’s tf2 tumblr’s mainstream favorite thing to talk about!

growth is important. moving past nasty old bigoted ass ideas is important. we all want to see tf2 stay fresh and fun without worrying about racists and homophobes and people writing our favorite characetrs experiencing horrible trauma like its the sexiest thing ever. the blocklist is a step towards a safer tf2 tumblr fandom, protecting new people from the same evils i had to deal with when i first joined back in 2017. this fandom wont stay relevant for long if all people see is blatant nazi propaganda and rape apologism lol

2. im not like a databank that stores every misdeed anyone on that list has ever done. there’s well over a hundred nasty people ive had to block in this fandom alone, most of which didn’t get much but a cursory blog glance back in 2017. if you wanted to manually pour through each one until you found something satisfying enough to block over, that’s your time spent, not mine. but i can assure you, every single person is there for a reason.

infamouslydorky specifically is there because of her nazi apologism and ableist caricatures. humbug is there because she said some really fucking ableist nasty shit about the mercs and then refused to take criticism for it, as well as being homophobic and making the mercs misogynists for literally no reason. i dont even remember who practical solutions is.

the point of blocklists isnt to form a cohesive, in-depth callout post for every single person listed. that would be insane. if i made a blocklist of TERFs or anti-sjws, people would scarcely expect me to make like a list of every crime they’d done with screenshots lmfao. either you accept it or you run the risk of dealing with some nasty ass people, up to you
