Since he's the original 'Dark King' I had to draw Mechi in Fu's newest outfit- but I changed it up a little to have it suit Mechi's style more. This is all unerasable media with no digital messing around, so there are some mistakes which I was *mostly* able to hide with coloring methods (couldn't hide that I unintentionally made him look way too young, though).
Some trial and error occurred on the coloring methods too- I originally started coloring this with Prismacolor pencils, but that looked soooo terrible, so I colored over the pencil with markers (that's why there's a line down his face if you look closely). Other things too, such as controlling marker bleed and ink smearing, which will help me in the future. The gold is some new gold ink I hadn't tested yet, and I'm pretty pleased with it- I can even ink over it when it's dry. The mess over Mechi's shoulder was a failed experiment in using white paint like white out- though that may have just been a failure because I didn't give it much time to dry? It was unnecessary, too, since I ended up coloring this with markers and could've just covered my mistake that way.
Lastly, I also tested out using self-adhesive transparent holofoil film on this to see what it looked like on this particular media (my first time using the stuff, just in general, btw). I think it looks great? And the metallic gold still shows well through it, too.
Dip pen with black and gold ink, with Sharpies and similar permanent markers for colors.
