Tofu fish sticks that have been battered in beer are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They are a great plant-based take on a classic comfort food. They're very simple to make and taste great.
Ingredients: 1 block extra-firm tofu, pressed and sliced into sticks. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1 cup vegan beer. 2 tablespoons cornstarch. 1 cup breadcrumbs. Oil for frying.
Instructions: Put flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl and mix them together. Slowly add the beer while stirring the batter until it becomes smooth. Breadcrumbs and cornstarch should be mixed in a different bowl. Cover tofu sticks with bread crumbs after dipping them in batter. Put oil in a pan and heat it over medium-high heat. Fry the tofu sticks in the coating for about two to three minutes on each side, or until they turn golden brown. Take it off and let it dry on paper towels. Serve hot with the sauce of your choice.
