This is so ominous

She comes to in fits and starts. 

The first thing that she notices is that there is something large and warm and heavy draped over her. Normally this sort of thing wouldn’t bother her. Now she attempts to squirm with what little lucidity she can summon to do so.

The second thing that Azula notices is the descent of an aching, thundering, throb in the very front of her head, wrapping about her skull like a vice. It echoes in her right ankle, and to the toes of that foot. She lets out a moan.

Her mouth tastes musky, dry as sandpaper as she swallows down on her gritty throat. 

When she can finally pry her eyes open, Azula sees that she is surrounded by a nest of blankets. Uncertain of how she got into it, or when she had fallen to sleep on the couch, she shifts her head gingerly to take in more of her surroundings.

The apartment is blessedly dark for the moment (or perhaps that is her nest cutting out the light), but with scent of the couch cushions is wrong. This isn’t her brother’s sofa. 

Where in the world is she? 

There’s a shuffling somewhere to her right, behind the back of the couch. She slithers an arm from inside of her cocoon, grasping for the top of the piece of furniture that she is reclined upon to attempt sitting up, but to no avail.

It was cold. She knew that much. Azula’s face had frozen so that she could barely feel her skin, and as she came slowly to consciousness in the snow, wind rippling at her hood, she found that she was...only half aware of what she’d been doing and where she was.

Groaning, Azula became vaguely aware of the reason she’d awakened. Someone’s hands were on her arm, rolling her onto her back, gentle but urgent. She heard a voice call...something. She couldn’t concentrate. 

Blinking blearily, the former princess reached up with her gloved hand to feel at her forehead. It smarted. She winced. 

“What’s...?” Her eyes focused finally, stomach dropping when, through the first few flakes falling from the steel grey of the sky, she finally saw the features peering out at her from the blue-dyed fur hood. 

Please someday write a book I can turn into a film ok
