Chapter 2013, page 65
Well....after much anticipation (okay maybe not much at all) my class found out that we tied with another class for the McTeacher Night competition and since we won last time, the McDonald's party is going to the other class. Good competition :)) Today was a pretty decent day though. Got quite a bit done today [math plans included]. I even started plans for the next month coming. I'm really excited for my high reading groups to start preparing their mini lesson they are going to teach the class on food chains. They are excited as well, so this should be really good :))

"It's close to midnight, and my puppy just had herself a bathhhhh" - sung in my Michael Jackson "Thriller" song voice :)) Well, today was a Tuesday. Went in to work, taught, observed, guided, laughed... I'd have to say, I absolutely love my class ;)) During one of my math rotations, I chose to let my high groups lead themselves in the math discussion while I simply facilitated [interjecting when necessary]. Their discussions were phenomenal!! It's amazing to see how much of "me" they retain ;)) This evening was out McTeacher Night fundraiser. I only saw 2 of my student s during the time that I was there, but I later received a phone call from a student of mine telling me that we were in the lead. I chuckled ;)) Today was a good day.
We are the CHAMPIONS my friend...maybe
Thirty days!!!! It's a late night for me but I'm still smiling!! Tonight was McTeacher Night for my school's fifth grade field trip fundraiser. For McTeacher night, it is also a competition to see which class has the most students to show up. Well I arrive with about 45 minutes, maybe 30minutes, left for the fundraiser and check the count. My class was at 8 students and so was another 5th grade class. As time went by, one of my students shows up and then a fifth grader shows up...we both were neck and neck again. Then 2 more of my students trickle in, putting my class at the top...needless to say, I was EXCITED for my class!! I still do not have the final count BUT to see my students faces as they came in the door to see me and to see the count made my night :):) Update will come tomorrow!! :):)
